When FDR a City boy laid eyes on the Green wich from the Village
It was a warm sunny afternoon at the street side farmers’ market
She was holding a Gray Papaya and he was gobbling on a hot dog
It was love at first sight as the Jersey Boys played their music
Eyes met eyes, smiles met smiles, they walked closer to say hello
So began a beautiful love story and a series of strange happenings
1st date – a boat ride on the Canal led them to a town in China
Where every person passing by greeted them with a So Ho!
2nd date – a walk in a Park that was lined up with Batteries
They happened to see a big Bull run down and hit the Wall
3rd date – a Rock Fell Her down on the Plaza ice rink
The Peacock news reporters were right there to cover it
4th date came and so did the 5th, 6th, 7th, and some more
12th date – a realization dawned on them saying it’s time
Like a scene out of a movie and the sunset in the background
He proposed to her on the 86th floor with a ring in a Big Apple
A new life began as they moved into the 9A loft of a brownstone
They Met life with the same zest of a gorilla on top of a tower
Working hard to build an Empire, playing their Trump cards right
Looking at the Broad way of life ahead of them as their family grew
A new addition to the family, their first born, say hello to Chelsea
Soon followed little Madison and Bryant, completing the family
The children grew up to learn at the coveted Chrysler school
Where Ms. Brook Lynn Washington ran a very tight ship
A big tall lady dressed in green carrying a torch and a big book
Teaching the children their Times tables and Square roots
Thus continued life for FDR, the Green wich and their family
Crossing streets and avenues, bridges and tunnels at every turn
On the island where every (Wo)Man of the world with a Hat and a Tan
Became Central to the energy driving a larger than life, Grand dream!
