A berry blueberry crème.

A berry blueberry crème. . Isn’t that the most beautiful color? I’m sure you are thinking - that’s not real, it’s totally edited. You are right. It is edited. Just as many of my other pictures. But it’s edited to ensure it matches the color and textures of the real product, not beyond that. It’s as real as can be. I take my pictures on an iPhoneXR and edit them right on the phone. I plate things in plates that we eat in and on countertops in my kitchen and I pretty much get a few minutes to capture it all, because there are 3 humans waiting to tackle me for the food. I now know when sunlight hits and from which window and I try to time it right and my props are pretty much what I lay my eyes on at that point in time. Take this photo for instance - I couldn’t be happier to have captured the sun on this lavender beauty. I had also just dead headed some flowers from the yard, so they added to the contrast. So, please chuck the myth that an edited picture is over engineered and false. It’s not. It’s in fact one of the most essential parts of photography. Give it a shot! . Now to the crème sauce: 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 cup cream cheese and 1/4 cup half & half or heavy cream. In a saucepan, heat berries, sugar & lemon juice on med heat for approx. 15 mins (stirring intermittently) or until you get jelly consistency. Add cream cheese, run an immersion blender through the mix or mash till smooth. Add half & half, mix, heat just to a boil, stirring constantly. Take off heat, let cool, refrigerate and serve as a topping on cakes, fruits or as a dip with cookies. Can’t get easier than that. It’s the perfect colorful, sweet and tart accompaniment to any #platedexpressions . Note: This yields approx 3/4 cup of crème. Can be refrigerated for up to 8-10 days. You can adjust proportions as you wish for consistency and taste. . . . . . #blueberrycream #blueberrysauce #produceisbeautifulproject #dessertsauce #desserttopping #dessert #fruitsauce #cookingwithgoodful #foodphoto #foodphotography #foodartblog #colorfulfood #dessertgram #blueberry #thekitchen #cookniche #buzzfeast #cooksillustrated #damnthatsdelish #yummy #eatcolorful #fruit
