A zing and a tang! . That’s bhel puri for you. The queen of all street foods in India, most likely served up in newspaper cones. And the puri - the round cracker serves a dual purpose... a scoop and added crunch to this zingy, tangy, street side snack. . What it is is a simple mix of puffed rice, a crunchy mix called farsaan (it’s got fried lentils, lentil and flour fritters, peanuts and more) and crunchy puris. This is all tossed together with chopped onions, diced tomatoes, diced boiled potatoes, minced green chili pepper, chopped coriander leaves, mint chutney, tamarind chutney and salt. Serve up immediately topped off with sev (thin crunchy gram flour noodles) and some added tomatoes and coriander leaves. . The flavors, the crunch, the spice, the sweetness... oh what can I say?! This plated expression is sure to clear up your sinuses and take you on a flavorful journey. Don’t miss out! . Make it. Share it.
