DiwaliComa!

November 20, 2020

DiwaliComa! . One last Diwali post before I switch my house decor and mind to Thanksgiving and the coma that comes with that. Man, do we love eating or do we love eating?! 😀 . Featuring here the bhog thali. Bhog - as per the Indian tradition is the act of offering your food to God before you eat it. This is the simple explanation. I’m sure there is much more to it than just that... but we can get into it another day. The first picture shows the presenting to God (That’s one of my abstracts of Lord Ganesh). The second picture, the thali (plate) shot presents: (From top and clockwise) - salt, lemon, chilies pickle, dal, matki/moth curry, aloo/batata sabzi or bhaji, pooris, gujjiya/karanji, chakli/murruku, kachumbar/koshimbir sweet kheer and finally rice in the middle! That was our Diwali day spread. . A nap after this platedexpressions was a must... needless to say. 😴😴 . Ogle it. Enjoy it. That’s one unique #platedexpressions . . . . . #thali #indianfood #indianfoodtales #indianfoodreview #indianfood #diwali #diwalithali #diwalifestival #diwalifeast #yummy #myroots #myculture #frommykitchen #foodcoma #onourcreativetable #cuisine_captures #cuisine_creations #thrivemags #vegetarian #vegetarianrecipes #produceisbeautifulproject #eatyourveggies #traditions #foodart #foodartblog #foodstyling #foodphotography #foodphoto #buzzfeast
