Fig(ure) it out.

July 24, 2020

Fig(ure) it out. . Plate: Figs on toast . Backdrop: Storm Chrome [hand painted canvas by @neha.limaye] . About the backdrop: Simple chromatic colors with reddish shades of purple that complement the color of figs. Loving this concept of combining my art and love for food to create a story. . As for the figs, can’t ever get enough of them during summer! Eat as is, add to salads, desserts, or toasts and crostini. I remember as a child I wasn’t much fond of them, but my dad’s eyes would light up when figs were brought home. And now I’m like that! It’s interesting to see how things change with age.😀 . Toast assembly: Toast multigrain bread slices and lightly butter, layer with arugula leaves and sliced figs, drizzle balsamic reduction (I used fig balsamic), top with shredded cheese (Gouda or Emmental go best according to me, cheddar may work as well). Final touch: top with chopped pistachios. Done! Eat. . Snack, breakfast, light lunch... whichever you have this plated expression... I vouch for it! . Make it. Share it.
