Hariyali spritzer - that’s what I’m calling it.

Hariyali spritzer - that’s what I’m calling it. . Hariyali in Hindi loosely translates to green fields, evergreens, color green and so on. And this drink is reminiscent of that green fields feel of summer. It is also inspired by pani puri or gol gappas - a super loved summer street food of India. What that is... is puffed semolina rounds filled with a spiced potato mix and topped with mint water and tamarind chutney. You basically gulp that filled puffed round in one bite and I can promise you that you won’t stop at one (post coming soon). Any how, I love that mint water and I always make extra and have it as a drink the next day. So this summer spritzer of mine is inspired from that! . Go green: Blend 10-15 mint leaves, 1 sprig of lemongrass with 1/4 cup water. In a shaker, muddle 5-7 mint leaves & 1/2 sprig of lemongrass with 1 tsp honey. Add blended mix. Shake. Top off with 1 bottle of @mikeshardlemonade. Pour into chaat masala rimmed glasses (Indian tangy spice... I added a dash of salt to it). Fill glasses a little over halfway. Top off with some ginger ale, ice and mint leaves. Slurp! This made 2 glasses. . Fun fact: I took this picture atop a weathered stump in our front yard. Love the texture it adds to this plated expression’s frame. . Make it. Share it. Tag it #platedexpressions .
