Perspectives.

Perspectives. Series: The New York Beat . Thomas Heatherwick’s newest creations at The Hudson Yards is intriguing to say the least. TKA The Vessel, bears resemblance to objects you come across in everyday life - be it a vase, bowl, a standing slinky, honeycomb, shawarmas... and much more. It’s all in the perspective, I guess. Modeled after the step wells that date way back to ancient times of my forefathers in India, this structure could be viewed as a tribute to their architectural geniuses. I’m yet to experience it from within, so wouldn’t be able to justifiably comment on that part, but I hope that the experience does justice to it’s inspiration. The experience of walking down a step well, where every step is soaked in history and is a marvel of genius is a high bar to be reached. Personally, I am thrilled that cultural past is being kept alive in modern day, but I am still not able to wrap my brain around the cost of creation. Again, it’s all a perspective and this one is mine. Will it change one way or another, time will tell. . . . . . #newyork #newyorkcity #what_i_saw_in_nyc #placestovisit #hudsonyards #thevessel #nycphotographer #newyork_ig #ig_nyc #topnewyorkphoto #passionpassport #nycprimeshot #newyork_instagram #icapture_nyc #ilovenewyork #spring #instatravel #artsculpture #timeoutnewyork #seriesthenewyorkbeat #nehalimayephotography #city #springinthecity
