‘Shrooming through With good old sautéed mushrooms. . It’s quite likely that you are in the ‘shroom camp or you are not. It’s black or white when it comes to these little umbrellas - you either love them or you don’t want to do anything with them. . Fortunately my family loves these buttons as much as I do. In omelets, over pizzas, in pastas, sauced up, fried, baked, sautéed... name it and we will eat it.😊 All said and done, our favorite way to eat them is simply sautéed. . Presenting here, sautéed White and Bella mushrooms - Heat a couple spoons of olive oil or butter in a pan, add minced garlic (2-3 cloves). As oil gets aromatic, add mushrooms (whole or halved), a pinch of salt, quick sauté until mushrooms sweat and slightly soften. Take off heat, top with fresh cut chives... Eat! . Made these on Saturday evening as we all gathered at the kitchen island. The kitchen garden had yielded a ton of basil, so made some fresh creamy basil pesto and lathered it on a toasted baguette as a side to the mushrooms. From there on, it was an evening of plated expressions (read: conversations), mushroom gulps and pesto bread crunches. . Make it. Share it. Tag it #platedexpressions .
