For Neha's birthday yesterday, we baked her a cake, the way she always baked one for us. We followed her own recipe for the Chocolate Frosted Cake. Ahaan found her mixer and the cake pans and set everything up. I baked the two 8-inch cakes, and Sia did the finishing, with the frosting and strawberry flowers, the kind of detail Neha always loved. At midnight we cut it for her, sang to her, and had a slice in her honor. Happy birthday, Neha. Thank you for the recipes, and for every cake you ever made for us.
