It was a Purple Trifle kinda afternoon.

June 28, 2020

It was a Purple Trifle kinda afternoon. . Rain coming down, a quiet house (everyone was doing their own thing) and this creamy yummy dessert was calling my name from the refrigerator. I don’t know what it is, but the pleasure of sitting down with a good book and a decadent dessert in tow... pure bliss! And my purple trifle made my afternoon. . Taking reference from the traditional English Trifle, this was tweaked as per available ingredients, taste and cause I love the color purple. . The 6 layers: 1. Sliced and cut pound cake (recipe posted 2 posts ago or use store bought) with a drizzle of orange juice. Or drizzle some sherry if you want it spiked. 2. Blackberry jam or any fruit jam of your choice (follow cherry jam recipe posted 6 posts ago or use store bought). 3. Blueberries (or fruit of your choice) 4. Blueberry crème (follow recipe in last post or replace with instant vanilla custard). 5. Sliced strawberries (or any other fruit) 6. Crème Anglaise (recipe coming in next post tomorrow or replace with whipped cream). . So there you have it. You can make your trifle many different ways and have it too. 😊 This purple beauty made my Sunday and was easy to put together because I had help from prior prep. You can make it easily too by taking the semi-homemade approach. Hope you enjoy this and all other platedexpressions. . Make it. Share it.
