Oh Fig!, 1 of 1

Oh Fig!

August 24, 2020

Oh Fig! . Today’s collab called for figs and I was certain that I wouldn’t be able to participate as I wasn’t able to find figs in our local stores. But yesterday, my daughter came home with the cutest, sweetest, little figs and I was dancing! 💃💃💃 . So presenting my version of a fig danish: cut puff pastry sheet into 6 rectangles. With a knife lightly draw an inner rectangle on each puff rectangle, leaving a quarter inch outer border. Poke the inner rectangle lightly with a fork in a few places. This will prevent the inner rectangle from puffing up. Mix mascarpone cheese with a dash of honey to slightly sweeten. Spread this mix on the inner rectangles. Bake the rectangles at 400F (preheated) until lightly browned and cheese bubbles (approx 15-20 mins). Top the inner rectangles with sliced figs, sprinkle raw sugar and broil for 1-2 minutes, until figs are slightly cooked and sugar is caramelized. Garnish with rosemary sprigs and enjoy with coffee or orange tea (like we did here). . A box of puff pastry has 2 sheets, so that will yield 12 danishes. You will need approx. two 8oz tubs of mascarpone for the 12 danishes. . These plated expressions are so delicious, you will keep wanting more! . Make it. Share it. Tag it #platedexpressions . Backdrop: Weathered White [custom hand painted by @neha.limaye] .
